This Greek Yogurt Cookie Dough is high protein, gluten free, low carb, and lower sugar. One step is all you need to enjoy this soft, thick, sweet cookie dough that tastes so much like the real thing you’ll be shocked by the healthy ingredients! It’s perfect for meal prep, an afternoon or night-time sweet treat, or sharing with friends for a night in.
If there’s one thing about me, it’s that I’ve always loved cookie dough and sometimes prefer it over the actual baked cookie! When I was younger almost every time we baked cookies, I would sneak in some bites (or spoonfuls) of the raw cookie dough – but what person hasn’t done that, right? I know it’s not healthy or super safe but there’s something about the thick, soft, texture with the sweetness and crunch from chocolate chips that I just love! As I’ve gotten older, I’m not as eager to sneak in those bites of dough but I do still love cookie dough and make sure that I can enjoy it in plenty of other ways. I’ve shared my Cookie Dough Bark, Cookie Dough Bars, and even Cottage Cheese Cookie Dough – any way I can enjoy it, I will!
I wanted to create another high protein cookie dough that was even EASIER to make and add to my weekly sweet treat rotation. This Greek yogurt cookie dough is exactly that and when I say easy, I mean it! You only need one step to enjoy this deliciously soft, chewy, sweet “dough” and that’s to mix everything together 💁♀️ I do like to have mine a little more firm and chilled though so I include an optional step to put it in the freezer for a couple of hours to really get that classic cookie dough consistency. But that’s completely up to you and what you like! Either way, it tastes amazing and is the perfect healthier treat.
This makes two to three servings so I like to pre-portion mine in jars so they’re ready in the fridge when I get the craving for something sweet. Another great thing about this cookie dough is that it can be a snack, dessert, or post-workout treat! It has a great balance of protein, carbs, and healthy fats so it will keep your blood sugar more stable, satisfy sweet cravings, keep you full and satisfied. It’s becoming the regular fix for my afternoon sweet tooth!
Why You’ll Love This
- ONE STEP – All you have to do is mix and eat! Option to let it chill in the fridge to firm but that’s completely up to you. Either way, it couldn’t be easier!
- Balanced treat – This has a balance of macros that will help you stay full and satisfy any sugar cravings without the sugar crash after. We have protein from the Greek yogurt and protein powder, healthy fats from the peanut butter and almond flour, carbs from the sweetener.
- Meal prep favorite – This recipe makes two to three servings but you can easily double the recipe for more servings to store in the fridge throughout the week. Have it for yourself, your family, kids, or a night in with friends!
- Dietary friendly – This is high protein, low carb, lower sugar, gluten free, can be made dairy free, and can be refined sugar free depending on what chocolate chips you use.
What You’ll Need
- Greek yogurt – For that protein boost and soft texture! If you want to make this dairy free, use a thick Greek-style yogurt like Cocojune.
- Peanut butter – I use an Organic natural peanut butter so peanuts are the only ingredient and it’s a runny, smooth consistency. You can use any nut/seed butter for a slightly different flavor.
- Honey – This is one of my favorite natural sweeteners because it’s subtle. Any sweetener will work, use what you love or already have in the kitchen (maple syrup, coconut sugar, monkfruit, etc.)!
- Almond flour – To help give a doughy consistency.
- Protein powder – My favorite right now is FlavCity Vanilla Protein (code: CALLA) because it’s naturally sweetened, smooth, and tastes amazing. Either plant-based or whey protein will work.
- Sea salt – For topping my baked goods, I always use Maldon!
- Chocolate chips – I like to use a mini chocolate chips in mine. You can use any size chocolate chips or chop up a bar.
How To Make
- In a large mixing bowl, add all of the ingredients except chocolate chips and mix until everything is combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips so they’re spread throughout the dough.
- Scoop into two to three servings and eat right away or let it chill in the fridge for a few hours for the perfect cookie dough consistency. Enjoy!
Recommended Tools
- Glass mixing bowls
- Stainless steel measuring cups and spoons
- Silicone spatula
- Cookie scoop
- Glass jars – This makes two to three servings and I like to put each serving in a separate container so it’s pre-portioned and ready when I want to eat!
