This easy, healthy apple cobbler is gluten free, vegan, low sugar, and made in the air fryer. The off white plate brings out the caramelized colors of the apple. Two halves are side by side looking soft, cooked, and slightly golden with sprinkles of cinnamon and brown sugar. Covered in vanilla ice cream that drips on the plate and topped with crunchy granola. A slice cut from one half to show the inside texture.

What You’ll Need

  • Apple – Any kind will work, the sweeter the better!
  • Oil – I used avocado oil.
  • Cinnamon
  • Brown sugar – Can use coconut or maple sugar.

How To Make

Start by slicing an apple in half, top to bottom, and scoop out the core. Scoop out more of the apple middle if you need a bigger hole if you’re planning on adding toppings later!

Lay parchment paper into the air fryer basket to make sure everything cooks evenly (and less clean-up 😉). Place each half in the basket, skin side down, and spray with a little avocado oil (any oil spray works). Flip the halves over face down and air fry at 400F for 8 minutes.

Open the basket and flip the apples over. Sprinkle the tops with cinnamon and brown sugar! You could also use honey, a splash of maple syrup, and coconut or maple sugar instead. Air fry for another 2-3 minutes until the topping has caramelized and browned.

Place on a plate and add toppings or enjoy on its own! You can’t go wrong with adding some vanilla ice cream or coconut whip, granola, and more cinnamon. Feel free to switch it up!
