This Pumpkin Pie Smoothie is blended to perfection with real pumpkin puree, cozy spices, and a hint of sweetness! It’s naturally gluten-free, paleo, and vegan thanks to the simple, nutrient-packed ingredients and natural sweeteners. It’s the perfect autumn-loving smoothie (or to enjoy all year)!
It’s no secret that fall is for all things pumpkin (apple too, but who are we kidding, pumpkin is the star). I love coming up with pumpkin-based recipes that are easy, nutrient-dense, and include cozy spices to really embrace the fall season! Some of the recipes I’m most excited to make are my Mini Pumpkin Scones, Pumpkin Spice Baked Oatmeal, and my Mom’s Famous Pumpkin Cake. Since it’s still warm weather though, I’ll save the baking for when the temp cools down and for now enjoy my Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and this smoothie!
This smoothie is one of my favorites because it tastes like a pumpkin pie but can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert… all the options. 😆 It really is fall in a cup! When making any meal, especially smoothies, I make sure to have a nice balance of protein, carbohydrates, healthy fats, and fiber. By having all of these in one meal, you’re helping stabalize your blood sugar so you’re less likely to have a crash later on! In this smoothie, we have a great balance of all three macros and plenty of fiber from the fruits and (hidden) vegetables that really take this recipe to the next level. If you also love thick, creamy, milkshake like smoothies then this one might be considered a new fall staple!

Why You’ll Love This
- Blend and done – Smoothies are an amazing, easy way to pack in a ton of nutrients in a simple snack. All you have to do is blend all of the ingredients, pour in a glass, top with something crunchy, and enjoy!
- Balanced and satiating – A lot of smoothies are carb heavy without enough protein and fats to balance out and help prevent a larger blood sugar spike which means you’ll drink it and be hungry not long after. This smoothie has a balance of carbs and fiber from the banana, cauliflower rice, and pumpkin puree, protein from the protein powder, and healthy fat from the nut butter and milk. It tastes delicious and will keep you full 💁♀️
- Dietary friendly – This is gluten free, paleo, vegan if using non-dairy milk and other toppings.
What You’ll Need
- Banana – Frozen is best, it makes the smoothie really creamy.
- Cauliflower rice – I promise you can’t taste it, but it’s what makes this smoothie so thick!
- Ice cubes
- Milk – You can use either dairy or dairy free. I love using homemade cashew milk or canned coconut milk!
- Pumpkin puree – Make sure it’s 100% pure pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling
- Vanilla protein powder – I love the Truvani Vanilla protein or Sprout Living Vanilla Lacuma protein. You can also use collagen.
- Almond butter – Any nut/seed butter will work.
- Pumpkin pie spice – If you’re not a fan or don’t have any, you can use cinnamon instead!
- Vanilla extract
- Sea salt
How To Make
- Add all ingredients to the cup of a high-speed blender and blend until smooth. (Tip: For a thinner smoothie, add more milk slowly and in small amounts until you get your desired consistency!)
- Pour into a cup and sprinkle with some extra cinnamon or pumpkin spice. (Tip: Top with something for extra crunch and texture to help with better digestion. My favorites are granola, chocolate chips, cacao nibs, hemp seeds, or buckwheat clusters!)

Hi Calla, I watch your videos every day. I need to buy a high powered blender and would like to know which Ninja you own. There are so many Ninja models to choose from. Is yours strong enough for nut butters and ice cubes? Thank you.
Peggy
