Healthy Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew

Every year when Starbs rolls out their Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, I get so excited. It makes me feel like Fall and spooky season (AKA my favorite time of the year) is officially upon us! While the Starbs Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew looks delicious, I always like to my own version at home with REAL-food ingredients and without the weird preservatives/unnecessary ingredients. Let me tell ya— homemade tastes EVEN better!

This Healthy Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew is made with real pumpkin, maple syrup as a sweetener, pumpkin pie spice, and a few other simple ingredients.

See my video tutorial HERE.

Ingredients in Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew:

ICE, BREWED COFFEE, PUMPKIN CREAM COLD FOAM [CREAM (CREAM, MONO AND DIGLYCERIDES, CARAGEENAN), MILK, PUMPKIN SPICE SAUCE (SUGAR, CONDENSED SKIM MILK, PUMPKIN PUREE, CONTAINS 2% OR LESS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLE JUICE FOR COLOR, NATURAL FLAVORS, ANNATTO, SALT, POTASSIUM SORBATE), VANILLA SYRUP (SUGAR, WATER, NATURAL FLAVORS, POTASSIUM SORBATE, CITRIC ACID)], VANILLA SYRUP [SUGAR, WATER, NATURAL FLAVORS, POTASSIUM SORBATE, CITRIC ACID], PUMPKIN SPICE TOPPING [CINNAMON, GINGER, NUTMEG, AND CLOVES]

Mono and diglycerides is another word for trans fat. Carageenan. Lots of processed sugar. Natural flavors (equivalent to artifical flavors). Potassium sorbate is a preservative.

I enjoy ALL foods/drinks in moderation but this is not something you want to be consuming on a regular basis! Not to mention, a grande contains 31g of refined sugar.

Ingredients in Calla’s Clean Eat’s Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew:

ICE, COFFEE, CASHEWS, PUMPKIN PUREE, PUMPKIN PIE SPICE, MAPLE SYRUP, SEA SALT.

Plus, it’s less expensive to make at home. I think we all know the clear winner here!

What you’ll need to make a Healthier Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew:

  • coffee— you can buy cold brew at the store or brew coffee like normal, let it cool, and pour over ice.
  • cashew butter— I use the brand Artisana Organics (the only ingredient is cashews). You could also use almond butter, sunflower seed butter (for nut-free), coconut butter (another great nut-free option), or even peanut butter! Just look for a nut or seed butter with simple ingredients, preferably the only ingredient being the nut or the seed and maybe some salt.
  • pumpkin puree— make sure to get 100% pure pumpkin puree, NOT pumpkin pie filling.
  • pumpkin pie spice— you can find pumpkin pie spice at almost any grocery store or on Amazon.
  • maple syrup— as an unrefined sweeter. Plus, the maple flavor with pumpkin flavor creates the ULTIMATE fall goodness!
  • sea salt— if your nut/seed butter does not contain salt.
