Double Chocolate Banana Bread

This Double Chocolate Banana Bread tastes rich and decadent decadent but is actually make with 100% wholesome ingredients that you can feel good about enjoying on a regular basis!

This recipe is gluten-free, refined sugar-free, and dairy-free but I promise no one will ever guess! 😉

So, a little backstory— your girl has never been a huge chocolate person. Sure, I’d eat it here and there but I always preferred vanilla, caramel, and peanut butter-y flavors… UNTIL this past year. I don’t know what it is but I have become OB-SESSED with anything and everything chocolate!

Chocolate oatmeal, chocolate bars (these are my favorite— discount code is callascleaneats), chocolate covered dates, brownies, chocolate smoothies… you name it, I want it!

A couple of weeks ago, as I was eating a couple of my paleo banana bread muffins + an apple for a snack (one of my go-to’s)— I had an idea to combine two of my favorite things and my Double Chocolate Banana Bread was born! 😂

Safe to say, this recipe is 10000x BETTER than I was even expecting. I cannot wait to hear what you guys think!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Bananas— the spottier the better! This will add a little bit of extra natural sweetness.
  • Oats—blended in a blender or food processor until you reach a flour-like consistency. If you don’t have a blender or food processor, you can also buy oat flour at most grocery stores. It’s much more inexpensive than regular gluten-free flour!
  • Eggs— I have not tried any egg subsititutes for this recipe yet. Experiment at your own risk, but if you do… let me know how it goes 😉
  • Coconut sugar— I love using coocnut sugar because it is an unrefined sweetener. Feel free to swap in regular cane sugar.
  • Cocoa powder— unsweetened. You can also use cacao powder.
  • Avocado oil— or coconut oil (melted + cooled).
  • Milk of choice— I used coconut milk but I also love cashew milk, oat milk, and almond milk.
  • Salt
  • Baking soda
  • Chocolate chips— hence the DOUBLE chocolate ☺️
