Healthier Cupid Crunch (Gluten Free, Dairy Free)

This Healthier Cupid Crunch is gluten free, dairy free, and is ready in ten minutes! One of the best parts about this colorful, tasty treat is you can use any ingredients and snacks you have on hand to change up the recipe a little every time. This is a great treat to have for yourself or for kids throughout the week!

For this recipe, I used olive oil popcorn, Lovebird strawberry grain-free cereal, gluten-free pretzels, and freeze-dried strawberries for the main ingredients. Can you tell I was feeling a pink theme? 😆 I made this for a cute Valentine’s day treat but have made it so many times since and love switching up the ingredients! Other great options are different types of cereal, nuts/seeds, gogi berries, freeze dried raspberries, crushed candies, etc. You can really add anything to change up the flavors!

What You’ll Need

  • Popcorn – I love olive oil popcorn from Whole Foods or Lesser Evil popcorn!
  • Cereal of choice – my favorite right now is Lovebird.
  • Pretzels
  • Freeze-dried strawberries
  • White chocolate chips – can be dairy free/vegan.
  • Coconut oil
  • Natural red food coloring – optional if you want the pink color! I get mine from Whole Foods.

How To Make

In a large bowl, add popcorn, cereal of choice, pretzels, and freeze-dried strawberries and toss until combined. Next, line a tray with parchment paper. Pour the mixture onto the tray and spread evenly.

To melt the white chocolate, add it to a medium bowl with a spoonful of coconut oil and microwave for 30 seconds, stir, and repeat until fully melted. Next, add in a few drops of natural red food coloring and stir until you get your desired color! The fewer drops you use, the lighter the color will be.

Pour the chocolate on top of the snack mix in a zig-zag motion moving up and down the tray until most of the mix is covered and all of the chocolate is used. Then, you can add sprinkles for some added crunch and pop of color – I love these natural ones!

Place the tray in the fridge for ten minutes or until the chocolate has hardened and set. Break apart and enjoy!
