Air Fryer Chicken Tenders

These Air-Fryer Chicken Tenders are gluten-free, dairy-free, and simple to make. You can easily swap out the rice cereal for whichever “bread crumbs” you prefer such as almond flour, gluten-free flour, or panko.

Every once in awhile, I crave some good ole fashioned chicken tenders and fries. I decided to put my air-fryer to use and make some at home.

I love making my favorite childhood meals that are most likely not considered the “healthiest” but making them with real food ingredients.

I don’t care about calories, fat, carbs, etc. I just want my food made with wholesome ingredients that make me FEEL good.

That’s not to say there’s no room for classic chicken tenders and fries from a restaurant, I love going out to eat and definitely don’t always choose the healthiest option— but it’s nice to be able to make at home sometimes too! These definitely satisfied my craving 😎

I used Butcher Box organic + pasture-raised chicken for these chicken tenders. If you buy through my Butcher Box link, you receive a discount and/or free gift (like free pasture-raised bacon for the lifetime of your membership!)

Enjoy!

Air Fryer Chicken Tenders

Course: Main Course
Keyword: air fryer, chicken, chicken tenders, dairy free, dinner, gluten free, lunch, tenders

Ingredients

  • 1-1.5 lb chicken tenderloins (or chicken breast cut into tenderloins)
  • 2 cups 2 cups rice cereal (or flour or panko)
  • 1-2 eggs (depending on how much chicken you have)
  • seasons of choice (I used oregano, onion powder, sage, thyme)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • If you’re using puffed rice cereal, pulse a few times in a food processor or blender until it’s a flour-ish consistenty.
  • Whisk egg in a bowl. In another bowl, mix flour or puffed rice mixture with spices, salt and pepper (you want wide shallow bowls for easy dipping!)
  • Spray air fryer with oil. Pat chicken dry with a paper towel. Dip each tender into egg mixture and then into flour mixture and set in the air fryer. You may have to do multiple batches because you don’t want to overfill the air fryer.
  • Air fry the chicken tenders at 400F for 10 minutes, flip them, and bake another 10-15 min or until chicken is fully cooked through.
