This easy healthy hot cocoa is gluten free, dairy free, refined sugar free, paleo, paleo friendly, plant based, whole30, vegan, low carb, balanced. In a tall clear mug is freshly frothed warm hot cocoa with the bottom portion a dark rich brown and the top a lighter brown from the frothed milk. Topped with a dollop of whipped cream and a drizzle of melted chocolate.

Healthy Hot Cocoa (Gluten Free, Dairy Free)

Ingredients

  • 1 - 1.5 cups milk of choice (dairy free or regular)
  • 1 scant tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder (or cacao powder)
  • sweetener of choice (honey, maple syrup, coconut sugar, pitted dates, etc. to taste)

Instructions

  • Heat your milk in the microwave or over the stovetop.
  • Add cacao powder and sweetener.
  • Next, either blend the mixture or continue to whisk until nice and frothy.
  • Option to top with whipped cream or marshmallows. Enjoy!
