Homemade Rice Krispies (Gluten Free, Dairy Free Option)

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp butter (or vegan butter, coconut oil)
  • 5 cups rice cereal
  • 10 oz mini marshmallows (one bag)

Optional: chocolate + sea salt for topping

    Instructions

    • Add rice cereal to a large bowl and set aside. Spray baking dish and set aside.
    • Add butter to pan and melt. Add in marshmallows and stir continuously until melted (I added in 2 tbsp water to help it fully melt together because I used vegan marshmallows).
    • Pour marshmallow mixture over rice cereal and stir until evenly coated. Press rice krispie mixture into baking dish. Move quickly so the marshmallow mixture stays warm!
    • Set in the fridge for 30 minutes.
    • If adding toppings, melt chocolate chips with a little bit of coconut oil. Drizzle chocolate over the top of finished treats and sprinkle with some sea salt. Enjoy!
