This Protein Brownie is gluten free, single-serve, and comes together in two minutes! It’s incredibly chocolatey, fudgy, and delicious and to make it even better, it’s high in protein, low sugar, and has minimal ingredients. Next time you’re having a chocolate craving and need a quick fix, you’ll want to give this recipe a try!
I love a high protein dessert, especially when there’s chocolate involved. Higher protein recipes are great because protein keeps you fuller for longer, more satisfied, and help with blood sugar balance. In this recipe, we have protein from the Greek yogurt, egg, and protein powder which can pack a lot in one single-serve dessert!
I’m definitely a sweet tooth girl who craves sweets A LOT so having high protein options is always a great idea. I love my protein-packed cottage cheese desserts, shakes, and bars, but when I want something quick this brownie recipe has become my go-to!
Watch how to make it HERE.
Why You’ll Love This
- Minimal ingredients – This recipe has six ingredients but it tastes like a luxury lava cake!
- SO quick – It only takes two minutes in the microwave to come together.
- Single-serve – Perfect for when you have a sweet craving and just need something quick to satisfy it.
- Dietary friendly – This cake is gluten free and refined sugar free depending on what chocolate and yogurt are used.
What You’ll Need
- An egg – for extra protein and to make this brownie super fluffy!
- Greek yogurt – You could use a Greek-style dairy-free yogurt too.
- Sweetener of choice – I used monkfruit but you can use coconut sugar, maple syrup, honey, etc. Whatever you already have!
- Cocoa powder – You can use cacao powder too, it will be slightly more bitter.
- Chocolate protein powder – I used Truvani Chocolate Protein, it’s one of my favorites!
- Chocolate chips – Enjoy Life has been my go-to lately, they’re free from 14 allergens including gluten and dairy. Or Hu for a refined sugar free option!
How To Make
- In a small bowl, mix all of the ingredients except chocolate chips together. Then, add in the chocolate chips.
- Lightly grease a small microwave safe dish. (Tip: I used a glass food storage container like this one.)
- Pour the batter into the dish and smooth it out.
- Microwave for 90 seconds if you want more of a lava cake, under-cooked center then you can start adding toppings. If you want it to be a little more baked, microwave in ten-second intervals until your desired doneness. (Tip: Microwaving anywhere from 90-120 seconds is the best method!)
- Add toppings of choice – Greek yogurt, peanut butter, chocolate chips, whipped cream, ice cream, berries, etc. Enjoy!
Recommended Tools

This looks so good! What a great combination of flavors!
Thank you! It’s such a quick, delicious brownie recipe 🙌
This is a great option for a flourless brownie. And it’s quick. I can taste the cocoa ( after taste) so next time I’ll only do 2 tbs.
Perfect for a quick sweet tooth fix, glad you liked it!
Can the protein powder be omitted? Would it make any difference?
Hi Tracey! The protein powder is the only dry ingredient in the recipe that helps the brownie form. Without it, the brownie would be very liquidy, but you could always replace it with another dry ingredient like cocoa powder or us a mix of oat flour with some cocoa powder for the chocolate in the brownie. I hope that helps!
This is the perfect guilt free chocolate treat! Thanks for sharing!
Happy you loved it 🥰
