This Homemade Spicy Cashew Dressing is naturally gluten-free, dairy-free, and is filled with healthy fats and FLAVOR. All you’ll need are 10 ingredients (that you probably already have in your kitchen) and a blender – easiest prep and clean up!
I recently went to Sweetgreen and had their Spicy Cashew Dressing – I forgot just how amazing it is! Luckily, they put their recipe online so anyone can make this at home. If you have never tried Sweetgreen or there isn’t one in your area, try this dressing and you’ll be hooked!
I love putting this on salads and pretending like I’m ordering from the restaurant but this would also be so yummy to top meals with or add to wraps. Either way, you’re probably going to have a new favorite dressing too 💁♀️

What You’ll Need For This Homemade Dressing
- Garlic cloves
- Fresh ginger – peeled.
- Cilantro
- Sesame oil – or sub for another oil, I love using Olive oil!
- Maple syrup
- Rice vinegar
- Red chili flakes
- Cashew butter – You can use any nut or seed butter but the taste will be slightly different.
- Lime juice
- Salt
- Water
How To Make
It couldn’t get much easier than this – just put all of the ingredients into the blend and blend until fully combined, creamy, and smooth!
You can make this as spicy or mild as you’d like by adding more or less chili flakes. If you don’t like cashew butter or need an alternative, use any other nut/seed butter but know that the flavor will taste a bit different than this original recipe!

Hi! do you think sugar free syrup would work? It’s what I have at the moment .
Yes!! 🙂
This recipe was perfect. The dressing tastes light and delicious. One of the best dressings I have had, let alone made myself!
I am so glad you loved it! One of my favorite homemade dressings ever (or store-bought for that matter :)!)
