Homemade Yogurt Ranch

This easy Homemade Yogurt Ranch is the perfect healthy dip or dressing to go with veggies, chips, salads, wraps, and more!

Most ranch dressings and dips that you will find at the grocery store contain inflammatory oils such as soybean or canola oil. These oils are much cheaper for brands to use in their products but in general are not the greatest for our health.

Most store-bought ranch dressings also contain additives, preservatives, and emulsifiers— again, not things you want to be consuming on a regular basis! While there are a few *Calla Approved* store-bought dressings (such as Primal Kitchen)— they are usually pretttttty expensive. I buy occasionally when they’re on sale but I wanted to be able to make a healthier version of my fave dressing at home for less!

In addition to being made with simpler ingredients, this Homemade Yogurt Ranch also contains added protein and probiotics from the greek yogurt— which is always a bonus! You can also swap out greek yogurt for a plain, unsweetened non-dairy yogurt and it is equally as delish (and you’ll still get the probiotic benefits! 😊

What you need to make this recipe:

  • greek yogurt— plain and unsweetened. You can use whichever % yogurt you prefer, but I usually go for anything that’s not 0% fat because it doesn’t taste as good
  • mayo— I use avocado oil mayo. I know avocado oil mayo is more pricey but it’s so worth it. Plus the amount of ranch batches you can make with 1 jar saves SO much more $ than buying the pricier high-quality ranch at the store. TIP— Coscto has an amazing deal on avocado oil mayo and it lasts forever!
  • spices— onion powder, garlic powder, and dried chives (you could also use fresh chives if you prefer)
  • fresh herbs— fresh dill and fresh parsley add THE best and most fresh flavor!
  • salt and pepper— of course
  • fresh lemon juice
  • water to thin— this is optional. I like to leave it pretty thick if I am using it as a dip. I add a splash of water if I want more of a salad dressing consistency. Start slow with the water because you can always add more as needed but once it’s added it can’t be undone!
