Healthy Chocolate Covered Cookie Dough Balls
Ingredients
- 1 & 1/4 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup coconut sugar
- 1/4 cup coconut oil (melted + cooled)
- 2 tbsp milk of choice (I used oat milk)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pinch sea salt
- 1/3 cup chocolate chips
For the chocolate coating
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 tsp coconut oil
Instructions
- Let all ingredients come to room temperature.
- Mix all ingredients except chocolate chips. Fold in 1/3 cup chocolate chips.
- Set bowl in the freezer for 10 minutes (this will make it easier to roll into balls).
- Roll dough into balls (about 1 heaping tbsp each) and set in the freezer for at least 1 hour.Β
- Melt 1 cup chocolate chips and 1 tsp coconut oil in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring between each.
- Dip each cookie dough ball into melted chocolate and set onto a parchment paper-lined plate. Top with sea salt and set back into the freezer for at least 1-2 hours.
Shouldn’t you put it in the oven, microwave or something like that for some minutes before the chocolate dipping?? I ask this because it has flour in it. Just wondering as they look delicious!
Hi! There is no need because we are using almond flour, not regular flour π enjoy!
Itβs almond flour and that is pretty much just ground up almonds so you donβt need to bake it! π
Right! π
can you use coconut flour instead of almond flour?
Coconut flour and almond flour are not a 1:1 ratio so you will probably have different results π
Can you use liquid coconut oil?
Yes, that should work! π
Do you by chance have the macros for these? at least the calories and protein?
Thankyou!
Hi. Do you have the nutritional value of each ball?
Where is the macro break down?
In your ingredients list you have 1 tsp of coconut oil, but in your directions you say to you 2 tsp. Which do you suggest? I’m trying recipe now!
Hi! I am so sorry for the confusion. 1 or 2 tsp will work π it is just to make the chocolate a little smoother/easier to dip!
Can you use regular sugar instead? This looks amazing – cant wait to try it!
Hi! Yes you can π hope you love them!
Hi! Should I use refined or unrefined coconut oil? I have unrefined coconut oil in my pantry but it might lead to really strange flavor. I just wanted to know what you used. These look delicious!
Hi! You can use whichever you prefer. If you use unrefined coconut oil, they will have a slight coconut-y flavor which I actually love! But if you don’t want a coconut flavor, I recommend using refined π hope you love them! I was just snacking on a couple of them from my freezer yesterday!
Ummm, number of calories, please? These look delicious but I’m on a calorie deficit….
How many calories per serving?
12 balls worked out to +- 160 cals each on MyFitness Pal
Thank you for sharing! Hope you enjoyed π
