Fourth of July Chocolate Covered Strawberries

These Fourth of July themed chocolate strawberries are a super cute, easy, and healthier treat to celebrate with this week and next!

These USA inspired strawberries are lower in sugar, gluten-free, can easily be made vegan, and even contain some antioxidants and fiber from the berries!

A typical 4th of July for me looks like being up north Michigan, attending or riding in the morning parade, boating, eating a little too much candy, and having (maybe one too many) cocktails 😉

While there is TONS of more indulgent foods, treats, and drinks around this week, it’s nice to have at least one healthier option around. It helps that you can literally throw these together in less than 15 minutes too!

I used Lily’s Sweets white chocolate chips for a lower sugar option but feel free to use whichever white chocolate chip brand you prefer. I know that there are some vegan white chocolate chip options available on Amazon but you can of course use regular dark or semi sweet chocolate chips too (which is usally much easier to find a vegan-friendly option with!)

I found my sprinkles (actually called decorating sugar) from Whole Foods and although it’s not the “classic” deep blue— I actually think they turned out even prettier with the lighter blue! I also love these sprinkles because they are all-natural and dye-free.

What you need to make 4th of July Chocolate Strawberries:

  • strawberries— of course! I try to stick to organic when it comes to berries because they are highly sprayed with pesticides. Costco always has the BEST deals for organic berries.
  • chocolate chips of choice— I used Lily’s white chocolate chips to keep these on the lower sugar side but you can use whichever which chocolate chips you prefer. I know that Amazon carries some vegan white chocolate chips but you can of course also use dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips (which are much easier to find in the vegan variety!)
  • coconut oil— you’ll just need a teaspoon or 2 to make your chocolate chips silky smooth and the perfect dipping consistency!
  • blue sprinkles— I found an all-natural, dye-free version at Whole foods. The crunch and extra sweetness of the sprinkles makes them THAT much better!
