These Ginger Turmeric Wellness Shots are gluten free, vegan, refined sugar free, paleo, and so simple thanks to only six whole food ingredients. No juicer is needed and in just a few minutes you’ll have citrusy, sweet, smooth wellness shots with a little kick!
As the seasons change, it’s usually a time of allergies, colds, flus, and just having an overall tired immune system. I have a lot of tools in my care kit to help support my body when I’m not feeling well or want to prevent myself from getting sick, and these immunity shots are one of my favorites (and tastiest)! There are so many things we can do to support our body during cold/flu season, and all the time, that are free or low cost – getting enough sleep, daily movement, time outside, sun exposure, prioritizing whole foods, and drinking enough water. All simple healthy habits that benefit us not only when we want to prevent sickness but also for our overall well-being! When I do feel a sickness coming on though, I really focus on all of these as well as increasing the anti-inflammatory foods in my diet. That’s where these homemade wellness shots come in!
These shots are filled with real food ingredients that pack in SO many nutrients to help reduce inflammation, boost energy, aid digestion, and even help with glowy skin. In these shots, we have turmeric, ginger, black pepper, and cayenne pepper which are all high in anti-inflammatory properties and help with digestion, oranges that are high in vitamins and minerals like C, potassium, antioxidants, and coconut water that is full of electrolytes for hydration. All of this goodness in one simple recipe that takes less than five minutes to make AND saves money?? Say less!
You could always buy the premade immunity shots from the grocery store but they’re crazy expensive and ONE of those shots is usually the cost for all of these ingredients that will last an entire week. Not only are these super easy to make, just blend and strain, but they’re also going to save you so much money compared to stocking up on those premade shots for the week! It’s a no-brainer and once you taste how good these are, you won’t want to buy premade again (unless you HAVE to). 💁♀️

Why You’ll Love These
- No juicer needed – You don’t need a fancy juicer to reap the benefits. Just blend everything, strain, and pour into a bottle or shot containers. By blending, we’re also keeping more of the fiber from the fruit and roots intact compared to using a juicer.
- Benefits beyond fighting sickness – I love making a batch of this for the week ahead and trying to have one every day even if I’m not fighting a cold! When I’m consistent, I notice my skin looks and feels so much better, my digestion is better, and I feel well overall.
- Meal prep fun – It’s so satisfying to prep these and have the individual bottles ready to go, sitting in my fridge. It’s like a reward!
- Dietary friendly – These are made with simple, natural ingredients so they’re gluten free, vegan, plant-based, paleo, refined sugar free, etc.
What You’ll Need
- Ginger knob
- Turmeric knob
- Coconut water – Make sure the only ingredient is coconut water! A lot of brands like to sneak in added sugars which isn’t necessary. That’s why I love this one from Harmless Harvest!
- Orange
- Cayenne Pepper – Adds a little kick and is great for digestion and gut health.
- Black Pepper – Don’t skip this! Black pepper activates and boosts the anti-inflammatory properties in the turmeric so it can be absorbed by the body better.
How To Make
- Wash the ginger and turmeric. Option to peel both, I personally like to get a little bit of the skin off!
- Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender. You want to make sure everything is covered by liquid so add extra water if needed.
- Blend for one to two minutes until a smooth, yellow juice forms.
- Place a nut milk bag or strainer in a large bowl or measuring cup and strain the juice by pouring it in. Squeeze the bag to get an excess juice out of the pulp.
- Pour the juice into shot containers or store in a larger bottle and pour into regular glasses when you’re ready to drink. Enjoy!

This was super easy to make and tastes very good.
Glad you like them! 🤗
Hello! I haven’t made this yet because several Kroger stores I have been too didn’t have turmeric knobs. What measurement can I use using my jar numeric? Thank you!! Stephanie
Hi Stephanie! Usually, one inch of fresh turmeric is equal to one teaspoon turmeric powder. The recipe calls for a small knob so I would start small with two teaspoons! You can always taste and add a little more if you like. Hope this helps!
